I am conducting a pool clinic in Metropolis, Illinois on March 4-5 with Buddy Hall. Buddy is truly one of the coolest and most fun pool players with a terrific personality in the history of billiards. During his prime he won all of the very biggest tournaments for four decades.
Back in that era the top players often matched up and played very serious matches against each other to prove who was best, rather just use tournament records and ranking points for defining excellence. I was blessed to get to compete against and alongside of Buddy during his prime. All of the other top players of that era also completely agree with any of the accolades and descriptions presented here.
Nobody has a more compact and simple stroke than Buddy, the smoothest transition from backswing into the fore swing in professional pool. He is also known for having the very best cue ball control. That style really holds up under big pressure for huge money.
He is now older, but he is the same as baseball legend, Ted Williams, when he was in a wheelchair and surrounded by young star players hopeful of learning a valuable point. He has killer real pool stories and tremendous pool wisdom that will be included.
This will be my privilege and honor and I am super enthusiastic to get to work with him…he is my hero too.
“Don’t play position when you have position.” ~ Buddy Hall
Buddy is a great teacher. A TON of knowledge and a real easy-going delivery. He's not getting any younger. Great chance to learn from two of the best imo.So $28.60/hr for lessons from Mark Wilson and Buddy Hall??!

I've been really fortunate to have spent a lot of time with him and he's a treasure in my book. He was the de-facto 'house pro' where i play in Tulsa for a couple yrs and i spent a lot of time watching and learning. I also bought my first decent cue from him back around '80ish, a Meucci BH-1 Rifleman. He looked at my cheapass import pos and took me out to his car where he had a trunkful of Meucci's. Think i paid around 50bux for it.I could use the instruction but if I lived close to Metropolis I would pay the $400 just to hang out with Buddy for 2 days.
This should fill up fast.
Wow, if I lived within a half a day’s drive I’d be there! Is that $400 total for a 2 day clinic or two separate 1 day clinics for $400 per day/clinic?Just saw this on Mark'sFB page. Mark Wilson
Saturday and Sunday March 4th and 5th
We work with our students over two days. Each day begins at 10 a.m.- 5 p.m.
This is not a "Fantasy Camp" and we will work hard to produce positive results for you, so be prepared to earn tangible progress, while setting a path for longterm growth also.
These groups are for enthusiastic players who are defined as chronic overachievers that pursue excellence and have a strong work ethic. They add a positive “can do” culture from their discipline and respect for Billiards as a sport that is refreshing and inspiring. Our small groups generate a positive pool culture, we become a team. We insist on leadership and great core values, everyone is helping and encouraging each other and the synergy produces maximum progress impact beyond a private lesson.
Nobody masters any aspect but everyone learns to teach themselves while understanding improving the entire sport. We all work very hard yet have fun as well.
Curriculum: Video analysis, written diagnosis, specifically designed training exercises for skill building, team and individual competition, Stroke Blueprinting, Mental Approach, Kicking, Banking, Safety Strategy, How the Professionals play position, radar analysis, and more.
If you would like to participate, you can register by sending $400 to stlshooter@hotmail.com on PayPal or stop by Sully’s Billiards and pay cash.
