I'm still a player, i still have the addiction to the game. Which material, as a ferrule, has the pop, the click. Micarta had the best, then ivory I'm looking for a current time answers, masons's micarta, or tomahawk or is there something else a little bit harder and available I'm old school I'm working on an idea
Some of us shoot with deflection, some of us not, but in the end it's all equal

If you like a “click” sound from your cue, don’t use Tomahawk. Tomahawk and a VS Ultraskin tip removed the “tink” sound from my Cynergy cue. The sound a cue makes is a personal preference. I’ve replaced ferrules that had a small crack, but the owner thought he just needed a new tip. LBM may be your best choice for a new ferrule. YMMV.

Ivorine 4 then Ivory has the sound you seek. The new Micarta is a quieter material like the less brittle Melamines like Ivorine 3 and the modern White Linen ferrules that are on the market.

Where did the westinghouse micarta fit in

It made a noise, but different from Ivory. A Iittle softer sound than Ivory and moved the cue ball a little better. i still liked good Melamine ferrules better. The old Micarta smelled horrible when cutting it. I think laws against asbestos use may be why it was discontinued.
