for those interested in the punching bag purchased by master billiards and located between the two tight pocket money tables, for $1 a pop, someone saw "spain" wind up and charge the bag...he missed and fell flat on his skinny ass.

the waitress scored a 550 (out of 1000).

i stand corrected. daniel barouty (mother goose) reminded us that our favorite waitress actually scored a 720.

The last time I was at Master's was when I helped out during the Big Apple tourney last August. A punching bag?

I played the Wednesday night a couple weeks ago. It was tough playing while the guys were going wild over that punching bag. Freaky.

Like all those games, they will be sick of it soon.

This sounds hilarious. Do players who are gambling and miss a key shot run over there and pound the bag in between shots?

When I was 17 I played this crazy drug dealer named Max. Max wasnt any kind of mean or nasty guy but he said the funniest things sometimes that caught you off guard. I was gambling with him and he missed and turned to one of the railbirds and said, "do you think if I offered to pay, I could have someone be my official punching bag when I miss?" later he said he was thinking of having some bales of hay brought in and put in the corner of the room so when he missed he just heave his cue into their like some kind of olympic javelin contest.

This is huge at our pool hall in Ottawa. Hit it twice for $1. The highest I have personally seen is 905. Most of the guys that hit it hard score between 800-860. I've been as low as 620, and as high as 840. The bar is making a mint on that machine.

Why would they put it where the big money games are being played??..

That machine is probably making more money for them than the tables are.

don't bother...spain only has one barrel. he's broke. always has been. never goes for more than one or two losses at most.

The machine gets more action then the tight joints so why should they move it. Maybe if there was some more action they would do something about it. I go there almost every Weds. and can't get a game.

the next plan is to hold punching bag tournaments. a few of us pit the waitresses against each other. the reigning champ (louisa) told me today her high is actually 730 (verified by two regulars).

the jury is still out on whether spain will ever suck it up and try again.

How much do you think the bar is actually bringing in per week on their machine?
Does the machine have a name? I dont believe I have ever seen one.

But their primary business is as a pool hall. If they drive away all the players because of this punching bag fad, it'll hurt their long-term business model.

It sounds like a fun thing, but I just don't understand their choice of location. Don't they have some video games in the back already? It could be placed there and not disturb anyone.

they dont care. they get like $8 a hour for table time ands these people paying $1 a punch. they making like $40-$50 a hour on the machine. im not saying he right but that is wut is happening. i havent got a game there since they put it in.

Silly bag!!

They put one in at Poolies in Palm Bay,
885 righty,
830 lefty
and that is with a pinched nerve in my lower back stopping my hip turn.
