How are things as it stand now with Alex winning 1p?

Efren has to be in the running?

9B is Mike D best game, so he has a good shot.

I think alex has a 1st and I believe a 10th place finish? But he also has 1 loss already in 9 ball, I think it is who goes further in 9 ball with hall efren (0 losses) daulton brumback and pagulayan have 1 loss dechaine should also be in the running not sure how he did in banks

Assuming the calculations in this post are still valid, this what I calculated for the total points after two rounds...

Daulton => 120 (1st) + 17 (10th, 7-way tie) = 137

Reyes => 80 (3rd) + 55 (4th, 2-way tie) = 135

Hall => 53.3 (4th, 3-way tie) + 80 (3rd) = 133.3

Pagulayan => 3.6 (13th, 6-way tie) + 120 (1st) = 123.6

Brumback => 100 (2nd) + 17 (10th, 7-way tie) = 117

Dechaine => 3.6 (13th, 6-way tie) + 100 (2nd) = 103.6

Bustamante => 33.3 (7th, 6-way tie) + 55 (4th, 2-way tie) = 88.3

Someone check my math. Tight race!!

It looks to me like the top contenders are as follows. Shown are their finishes in Banks (first) and One-Pocket (second). "t-10" means tied for 10th.

Daulton -- 1, t-10
Pagulayan -- t-13, 1
Reyes -- 3, t-4
Hall -- t-4, 3
Shuff -- t-7, t-6
Dechaine -- t-13, 2
Bustamante -- t-7, t-4
Brumback -- 2, t-10

Does anyone know how points are awarded to determine the winner and runner-up? Are all three disciplines treated equally? How many positions in each event receive points, and how many points?

Thanks, jsp. I didn't remember that old post by Paul8ball.

Edit -- Paul8ball's post seems to say that points are awarded to the top 64 in each event, although he only showed the points for the top 13 places. That would mean your numbers are off for several of the players.

Looks like we can eliminate Justin Hall. Billy Gibbs just reported that this morning Hall overslept both his match and the buy-in window for the next match and is out of the 9-Ball.

Shannon lost to Orcullo round 6

Thanks. I missed that. So Alex and Dechaine probably have more points than I posted.

Doesn't matter for Dechaine since he's already out of the 9-ball tournament. Daulton and Hall are already gone as well. Brumback and Alex have one loss. Efren and Django are still undefeated.

There is still a slim chance that Django can take the title if he wins the 9-ball event, but he would need Efren and Alex to bow out as soon as possbile. Brumback is still in it, but I just don't see him getting further than Efren and Alex and in 9-ball.

So I think it comes down to a showdown between Efren and Alex. Whoever finishes further in 9-ball most likely will take the Master of the Table crown.

Things are getting tight. Efren and Busty both lost their first matches. Alex still has one loss, and Brumback is still hanging in there.

Busty needs to win it all and have Efren, Alex, and Brumback to lose immediately.

Otherwise, it's a three-person race considering Brumback is still going strong. All have one loss each.

intense matchups next! can't wait!

Busty vs Brumback
Alex vs Biado
Efren vs Mika

there's 4 left in the running: Busty,Alex,Efren and Brumback
next round either Busty or Brumback will eliminate the other.

Both Alex and Efren have very tough matches...
wonder which one is the TV table?
Anyone know?
Efren/Mika is table 10
Carlo/Alex table 19

How did you get 3.6 points for 13th? (Alex and Dechaine) that number seems low. 13th is 29 points right?

It was based on the incorrect assumption (see AtLarge's 2nd post after mine) that they they stopped awarding points past 13th place. Given that assumption and there was a 6-way tie for 13th, then they'd have to divide 29/6 = 4.8, which still doesn't equal 3.6. Yeah, I'm not sure exactly how I got 3.6, but in any case it's too low.

If it's still true that they award points to the first 64 players instead of stopping at 13th, then Pagulayan should have something closer to 20-25 points for his 1-pocket round, making him the leader coming into the 9-ball tournament.

I think it's a pretty good guess that out of Alex, Efren, or Brumback, whoever finishes further in the 9-ball race will win Master of the Table. Though, I think it may still be mathematically possible that Bustamante or even Shuff could win the all around if either of them win the 9-ball event and Alex/Efren/Brumback gets eliminated in the next round.

Does anyone know if matches are being streamed right now (~11am)?

Looks like Efren and Alex won their matches. Brumback's match hasn't been posted yet.
