Matching a ring on an old Palmer cue.

I am making a set of joint protectors for a Palmer cue. The cue has a white mother of pearl looking ring that I am trying to match. However, the material is much whiter than the pearlescent rod that I have that came from Atlas Billiards. The ring is over top of ebony. I have tried painting the ebony white before putting on the ring and this helps, but the Palmer is a very bright white and I can't seem to match it. Does anyone know what kind of material that Palmer might have used? And where I might get some?

Maybe a pearl polyester?
Masecraft has them in rod shapes, as do a few other knifemaking suppliers.
