I jus got the new Insidepool in the mail .And theres a story in there. The cue you just might be playing with,Is it right for you .I just got a Gilbert for my b-day from the wife and let me tell u it plays great .The one thing i can't get is why can't i play with other cues like i play with the Gilbert ? I feel that my game has gone up a ball just by going back to his cues ..So do u feel that the cue you are playing with is right for you ? And what kind is it ? And how long is it ? Andy is a custom cue maker and the cue i have is 58'.But i'm 6 ft about 280 of pure lover man.. :p ..So do u feel that your cue is right for u?

I don't know how anyone can answer that with 100% confidence unless they've owned or gone through a whole bunch of cues over many years. Even when you think that you now have the ultimate cue, all it takes is a couple of lousy days at the table and the search continues. Sure does for me since I KNOW it isn't in my stroke or setup.

I can give u a little on me .I have played with about 10 cue from sept of last year till now .And just went back to a gilbert .I never hold on a cue to long . But i always play good with a Gilbert and a Webb cue.the first Webb cue i got from Mike i never played with his cues be for and ran 45 balls in 14.1 and 3 racks in 9 ball all for money .And the Gilbert was the same thing just pick up a low ender and was hittin them good ..

One good thing about a custom, is that if it is made correctly, it takes a lot of the variables out of the equation! I have gone through about a dozen production cues, before I found one that talks to me. A well constructed custom usually starts barking on the first rack. I think you do get what you pay for from a good custom maker!

Just my opinion...

I think a cue does make a difference, but that is only because when you first start playing you don't realize what you are looking for. As you start to get better you realize what you need in a cue because you see that your shaft has to much flex, your cue is to back heavy, etc... then the search for the perfect cue begins.. The problem is everyone has a different preference. Once you realize what you are looking for and find it you can see the difference.

Glad you like your Gilbert... I had him redo a old Hoppe and the cue hits great as far as I am concerned...
