Hello! I just wanted to take this off my chest and get some comments on people who went through the same.
I have played pool like 15 years ago, nothing fancy, just for fun, but I had good aim. 4 months ago I started playing again in a bar with a lot of good players, now I am learning cue ball control, english effects and all that, I am really excited to be learning and decided to spent on good cues, my brother in law recomended McDermott and I got from Ebay authorized sellers a G240 with i2 shaft, a Stinger for break jump. The G240 came with a tap roll, pretty sure is the joint pin. The Stinger was perfect. I ordered a new Defy shaft that does not fit properly on the G240, then ordered a same joint size (as the Defy 0.855) SL07 Butt but it also has a tapper roll when locked together with the Defy, pretty sure is for the joint pin.
So now I have to send 2 new, not cheap cues to McDermott to get them proper aligned, and pay to send them and another 25 (at least) to get them back.
I assume it is because their artisanal processes. Is that something I should expect? It has nothing to do with the quality of the products? I hope they don’t take an eternity to send them back.
The G240 was bought with the i2 as an upgrade, I would not expect them to not be properly aligned. I have read from the McDermott page that if you buy a shaft you should send your butt to get them fixed and aligned together, so I get that the SL07 and the Defy were ment to visit the shop, but the G240 was bought together with the i2 shaft, shouldn’t it had to be sell fixed?
Any thoughts on this? Any experience with McDermott warranty?
