McDermott Cues - Is the "H" and improvement, or a gimmick, over the "G" series ?

I need a new butt to go with my Defy shafts. My only McDermott experience is the Sledgehammer which is my daily break cue. Looking at the technology differences between the H and G series, I haven't found much to read about how well these have been received?

Any feedback from someone who has owned or played with both?

mcdermott makes a great cue. I shot with a 2010 G316 model with the G-core shaft up until recently. It never failed, I just got bored and wanted a new cue. Ill never get rid of that cue though. Sorry, I havent used both, but you cant go wrong with a g series

The balance system in H cues is certainly not a gimmick: as they show in the video you can change the balance point of your cue. Whether you care about the balance point of your cue is an entirely different thing. I think it would be fun to try different balance points on the same cue to see whether I really liked one balance point better than another. However, the H cues are way too expensive--I would order a custom cue instead.

My only significant concern is the "hit" feel. Given tis butt is largely hollow, how does it feel? I'm not finding a lot of positive (or negative) reviews on the "H" series cues so was hoping for some input from the AZ crowd.

How long have cues been around? Think no one else has thought of this? IMO is nothing but a gimmick. Never hit one but i'd be concerned with both the hit/sound and that thing coming loose over time. I don't think being able to move the BP is much of a selling point.
