Hey everyone,

Just wanted to know if anyone has used the Intimidator i1 shaft to break with. It seems that would be an excellent application for it, especially with a white diamond or phenolic tip. If you have one but dont break with it, chime in anyway, want to hear your opinions.

Thanks in advance!

I tried one and they are super stiff, but...
I don't think you need to spend that much money (shaft+new tip)to get a good break shaft. If you had one already and wanted to convert it, it would work well for you.

I understand what you're saying. I can always use the J&J J/B cue if I wanted something that gets the job done. What I am wondering is if this thing can make an exceptional break shaft, extra large sweet spot, low deflection for control, ect.

Ah, I see. My break isn't strong enough for me to give meaningful input on those questions. It's a cool idea.

Wouldn't it be easier just to try and pic up a used BK if your wanting a low deflection shaft for breaking?

This is exactly why this thread was created in the first place, so we can compare with other products in the same segment. I would like to hear peoples first hand experience with this shaft either breaking or playing.

Well i did have one, i used it as a playing shaft on a DZ sneaky that i used to own. I'm not a expert when it come to low deflection shafts but it played pretty good and hit better than the predator shafts that i've tried.

Sounds good!

Anyone else?

I'm not too knowledgable on the i-series by McD, but I personally use a BK2. I like the hit and the shaft is pretty solid in my opinion. before I just had a generic cue for breaking with a hard tip, but the BK2 allows me to work less for a better break.

The i-series I haven't had a chance to play with but if I do get a hold of one I'll be sure to post here to let you know. enjoy.

I've used a 314 to break with, and it's lasted two years somehow. I have a big break and it's still in tact. I'd imagine any I-1 would be fine to break with.
