Measuring a GC Table

I know that Gold Crowns came in several sizes. How do I measure a GC table to determine whether it is a 4.5 x 9 etc.? Do I measure from where the formica meets the cloth covering the rails or do I measure nose to nose of the rubber cushions?

9' will be 50" wide
Pro 8 will be 46" wide, that's the only 2 sizes the Gold Crowns were available in.
I have heard people say to measure from diamond to diamond to get table size, I suppose you could do that but measuring the width between the cushion noses sounds way easier to me. You do not need to measure length because that will always be twice the width, or at least it should be, you probably do not want a table where this is not factual.

I have a 9' GC which I always assumed was a 9 footer but after I learned about Pro 8 footers started to question it since the 9' tables don't literally measure 4.5x9.

So the other night I was asking at the pool hall and unfortunately not getting correct information how to measure the table. Nose to nose, my table does in fact measure 50 x 100.
