Thanks

The Mr. Cue Billiards is the closest decent place in Lindenhurst. The best place, IMO, is Raxx in Franklyn Square, but those are all about 20-30min drive from Melville. House of Lords was your best bet, but they closed. They had a good core group with action everyday, but I think the landlord screwed them, and they turned it into a dollar store! :-(

Listed below are the pool rooms with well kept tables and competitive players near Melville. There is a local tournament at Bay Shore on Thursdays and one in VIP Billiards on Wednesdays. There is also a Saturday tournament at Mr Cues, but I'm not sure if it is currently being ran. I'm sure there are other pool rooms around, but I'd reckon the ones below.

Bay Shore Billiards (Owned by Cue Collector Tikkler)
Address: 253 W Main St, Bay Shore, NY 11706
Phone: (631) 647-7772

Mr Cues (Owned by Scott Murphy)
1191 Sunrise Highway, Copiague, NY 11726
Phone: (631) 226-9486

VIP Billiards (Owned by Chris Guariglia)
Address: 724 Montauk Hwy, Bayport, NY 11705
Phone: (631) 472-1234

Melville

You will be on the border of Nassua and Suffolk counties both east of NYC

If you want to venture into Queens you have some options, but depends on you and your allotted time. Go see Earl and friends at Steinway Billiards.

In Melville your driving to get to a 9' unless it is a homeroom.

best bet is Commack at a place called Felt. If your not a snob to barbox the Big Kahuna is setup with diamonds which will be a little closer.

If you're game to go all the way to Steinway, you might want to stop into Carom Billiards. Thats an awesome room too.

76 Sunrise is the old location, 1191 Sunrise is the new location (One building east of the car wash). I'm sure of it, but you can always call to confirm. 😀

Just finished practicing at Bay Shore on the tight table. Rates are pretty cheap for NY

Been to Steinway and Corner pocket several times recently. The times i was there no one would play me. I have much better luck in Jersey at Clifton or Castle.

I second this also. Carom Cafe always has good action and if you want they got some awesome 3C tables too.

If its action you want and you're looking to do some cheap hustling, go to the bars instead. You'll have to deal with crappy equipment, but you'll probably still be able to out shoot any SOB in the bar. Easy enough to find someone with just a bit too much ego, and beer in those places. LOL. Again, CHEAP, but play your cards right and you can go to that well several times.

I gave up bar action and bar leagues a long time ago. Got tired of C and D players who have been playing for 30 years arguing about fouls and BS when they have know idea what their doing. I'd rather lose to a good player and learn something than beat some chump or drunk.

While not officially open yet, you are more than welcome to stop by. We have 9' Gold Crown 4's, 2 9' pro-cut Diamonds and Diamond Bar boxes. Next to Subway, entrance in the back of the building...

Where are you located? I might be able to come by tomorrow

1191 Sunrise Highway Copiague, NY 11726

Building east of the Car Wash, next to Subway - someone should be there after 2pm

If you're playing in the daytime Bay Shore is one of the only rooms with 9 footers open in the daytime. Guys and Dolls in Valley Stream is probably the only other in Nassau that's open in the daytime but you have to feed the meter every half hour. At night you have Raxx in West Hempstead, Baldwin Billiards in Baldwin, and The Hub in Island Park If you can go to Queens the closest is Cue Bar on Bell Blvd, and a number of others I love Steinway and Carom. I usually take the LIRR to Jamaica and then the subway to Steinway to avoid traffic. By the way, besides Carom, Bay Shore also has 4 three Cushion billiard tables which they got from House of Lords when they closed.
