I have a Meucci gambler with the Red dot shaft from the 90's that has been sitting in a case for years. I actually bought it from one of our AZ dealers -- the guy who sells all of the Bob Frey Sneakies. He was at a tournament at Fast Eddie's years ago and had it. I overpaid of course..LOL..but what can I do? It is virtually mint, straight, and plays good (the red dot is nice). I'll let it go for $300. Looks just like every other Meucci Gambler, and I'm telling you - looks pretty darn new.

One of our local champions was thinking of buying it - but ended up losing the dough so it didn't come through. I won't put his name out there - but he really liked the way it played, and he's a monster.

Paypal or Money order is fine.

Hit me up.

Hmmm...Ughhhhhh....I'll have to check. I'm at work right now. I don't think it is any limited edition or anything. Whatever they put on there in the late 90's? Horrible answer, I know. I'll look it up when I get home and post that if it is very important. I thought people would be excited about the red dot shaft. This is one of the last good playing Meucci cues.

Yea some people want diamonds, some little irishmen want clubs :p, most want spades. I agree it was a nice touch to the cue. I liked the 4 ace gamblers the most but probably because it's rarer.

I'm pretty sure it would get $300 or possibly more on EBAY. Any takers? :) I need some cash to buy a Predator 314 for my Schon, and maybe a little cheap break cue.

just alittle insite, the red do shaft was introduced around '98. most people tend to prefer the predot shafts, those made before '98. the only differance really between the red dot and predot shafts is in the ferulle. the predot shafts have a uncapped ferulle, meaning it slides completly over the tennon and the tip makes contact with the tennon. the red dot shafts use a capped ferrule and leave alittle space between the tennon and the ferrule cap.

Also, when the red dot shaft was introduced, the first batch, about 500 or so, had the dot located a few inches below the ferrule. read all about it here.

on this one, is the dot at the ferrule or at the joint?

Which suit is this gambler?

That is a good question...
I never even knew they made it different. Nice touch I think.

I think it is any four of the same family or four of a kind like "all jokers." I would guess the four of a kind are the most valued? I love the older ones with the standard points, no dice and the double stitching in the shaft collars and in the butt.
