I have the opportunity to obtain a Meucci Originals Road Agent/ City of Lights/ MS-3 cue that I would like to sell if I buy it. I find several names for this cue - Road Agent, Night Road agent, City of Lights, MS-3. This cue is a Meucci Originals, no dot shaft. Cue is in fantastic original condition- shaft appears to have some warp.

I was curious as to what the value on this cue would be today where it was priced to sell. I believe that this cue is fairly rare, especially as a Meucci Originals and in very good to excellent condition. I just don't know enough about current demand for the more rare Meucci Originals.

Looking for value where the cue would turn over sooner rather than later, and what the level of demand on this cue is today?

Thanks!

warped shaft, not much mike, low hundreds if you can find someone.

but i have no idea if there are meucci collectors or that want one with a warped shaft.

In perfect condition a quick turnaround maybe $400-450 range to a Meucci person. Purchase at $275 would be a safe investment.

My opinion

Well I cannot even buy it below $450 privately right now- that is disappointing- Thank you, anyhow.

I have the Meucci Airplane cue- 95-19 Model- not even a Meucci Original - and one of those just sold on e bay auction for $700+. I thought that the rarer Meucci Originals cues ( early/ mid 80s) in excellent condition would sell for closer to the $600/ $700 figure- but I guess that I am wrong.

We could be wrong also,

Could I ask what are factors are you basing your pricing value on the Meucci Originals Night Road Agent/ MS-3 in excellent condition?

Muecci is hot and cold on pricing. I see them on ebay one week and they sell for less than $150 and then one or two weeks later they are going for over $300. I have bought and sold a few myself. Picking them up at a decent price thinking maybe I could make some money when I sold them, but was lucky just to get my money back and then I see Muecci like mine sell for over $300 on ebay and I ask myself What the F*#*!

I base my pricing on buying and selling cues (especially off of eBay) for many years. Meucci cues have a fairly small nostalgia type following.

Meucci cues were known for their "hit" back in that day. This 1980s hit and mid grade quality make these cues not such a hot item.

My opinion

I follow the best meucci originals fb site in my opinion, and come here daily as well as eBay.
ebay prices are nuts most of the time.
that particular cue sells for around 500ish among meucci originals collectors IF it is straight on the fbsites.
in the condition you mentioned, 350 to 400 ish tops.
and yes, for those around the age 52 to 60-meucci s are known for that soft whippy high deflection hit.
and most who liked them then, still do.
might also mention that basically every top player in the early eighties played with them.
if one likes a ld hit-you’ll hate em.
I HATE a ld hit-I like them. But ONLY the age dated original cues from the eighties-I’ve tried most every era.
the quality of the early cues was spectacular-I have one from 85-my only cue and daily player.
‘beautiful and perfect.

And Mike-been wanting to ask for a long time…..are you in the lineage of Willie Mosconi?

Thanks, appreciate it!

Yes, I agree, seeing a Meucci 95-19 airplane cue go for $700+ AT AUCTION WAS VERY SURPRISING THIS WEEK . I also have the 95-17 Bushka model Meucci - recently on e bay a new old stock Meucci Original Oldie #1- the Bushka cue -sold with two original unused shafts for $1100 asking price.

I just can't get a good handle on Meucci values on the secondary market and I was presented today with the Meucci Original Night Road Agent at a fairly high price and hoped to flip it if I could get $800 or so for that cue- seems like it could be a crap shoot and a loss risk on Meucci cues.

Thanks- agree with your assessment on Meucci. No I am not a Mosconi. I chose the name here just to pay homage - I am Italian and there was great pride in our neighborhoods for Mosconi, Marciano, and DiMaggio - all legends in their chosen sports. I was very involved with pool, boxing, and baseball from early childhood.

I am related, though to a very famous Italian- still alive- Tony Bennett the singer- my mom and he are cousins and share the same last name - Benedetto. I am also related to the hockey greats Phil and Tony Esposito on my father's side. He is an Esposito.

I am just an ordinary citizen and still a pool player:):)

True, I won't buy it, but I think every Meucci shaft from the early/mid 80s is probably warped to some degree. They did not have time to age their shafts - they were selling as fast as they could make them.

Another problem with old Meuccis is that many have warping in the butt, as well. Buy one thinking you can straighten the shaft can leave you with much more work
