So after years off from this sport I decided to get back into it. Having sold my Meucci years ago, and not knowing the history of the company, I purchased a power piston 2. Love the look of the cue & having to " use less stroke" sounded line a great idea. I've read the seemingly only available article on this technology by Bob Meucci online. From what I'm gathering is the forearm is where this technology is located? I've noticed the more you hit this cue the less action you get. But my issue with this cue is the Ferrule was fine, level, & straight when I received it. Now it is actually a little concaved when you run your fingers across it. So am I confused on where the plastic sleeve over dowel is. Is it in the forearm or the Ferrule/tip

I dont know about the forearm technology, but I have changed power piston ferrules and they are definitely done differently than a normal ferrule.

The PP is the butt. Its a sleeve of plastic over wood. "Supposedly" it allows cue to compress/de-compress thus giving more power. I myself think its all bs. Meucci has always had problems with ferrules. Until the Pro shaft came out they used a long ABS ferrule with really thin walls. Played ok but broke a LOT. On the Black dot shaft the tenon is tapered so on contact the ferrule sort of "squished" inwards. Again, 'supposedly' reducing deflection.Whatever.

Meucci "quality" Your Pro shafts doesn`t have the "power piston" technology (feels wrong to call it technology though...)
All the stuff about having to use less stroke is just marketing. I`m guessing it`s a fairly soft ferrule material. You could either have it turned flush again or change the ferrule, maybe to a stronger material, so you want have this issue in the future.

I wasn't sure what to call it. Like speed foam technology in golf clubs. It's all a gimmick. I definitely will be looking into getting a new Ferrule & tip at some point. Sad t thing is I just received this cue middle of March this year. Sad it didn't last long.

Definitely notice there are times when I get a ton of action on the cue ball & then it's a dud. Very inconsistent & difficult to gauge what it's going to do. But I'm sure some of that is also the Indian. Completely different than my last Meucci. But that was 20 years ago.
