Mezz EC7 vs. EC9

I'm looking to buy either a EC9 or save $140. and get a EC7. What is the difference between a WX700 and the Sigma shaft? They both alluded to a pro taper which is what I'm after. Is it just the Mezz sales talk?

I wanted to test drive these cues at SBE but that all turned to crap and maybe even next spring too.

Sigma uses what they call a 'Pro Slim' taper. Looks like a little longer taper than 700. Sigma also uses a very short ferrule they call a 'Powerplate'. http://mezzcue.com/en/products_pool/shafts

Bite the bullet and spend the extra $ to upgrade to a Mezz Ignite carbon fiber shaft with any Mezz butt you desire, as the butt of the Cue really is not that important other than looks. You will not regret it!

If they would make it in 12.75/12.8 i'd look at one but for me personally 12.2 is way too small.

I was used to 12.75 when I got the ignite shaft. Now it seems normal and I use it all the time. I adjusted to it. But to answer your question, I also have both the wx700 shaft and the sigma shaft. Both good shafts but if I had to pick one, I would go with the sigma.
