Can anyone compare these two shafts as far as which one deflects the least and which one hits the most like a regular shaft or do they both have a hollow hit like predator? the mezz is 12.5mm and the jacoby is 12.8mm.

I have shot with a Jacoby Edge and I can tell you they are not hollowed out at all. They play great and you can custom order them to any size you like but come standard in 11.75mm & 12.75mm. I almost got this shaft because it plays very well but like the stiffness of the Pechauer LD. I have not played with any Mezz shafts so I can not speak from personal experience. Good luck making your decision.
I shot with both shafts and the Hybrid feels better , but the best LD shaft is the SS360/2 from Bob Danielson . The SS360/2 has more feel and the feedback you get is awesome .
I shot with about every LD shaft out there , SS360/2 outperformance them all .
have you tried Hybrid pro 2 and hybrid alpha by mezz?
I play with a WX900 and have hit with the WD700 or now WX700 (tip is the only difference) and both (and the HP2) shafts don't feel anything like a predator. The feel stiffer than a reg shaft and much more crisp and solid than a pred. Honestly non laminated LD shafts are the way to go.
It's important to point out that the Hybrid Pro II and Hybrid Alpha shafts have carbon core technology, wich gives a very firm hit and transfers more spin than a regular LD or maple shaft.
Of all the Mezz shafts ( and i got all except the ash cored deep impact shaft..) to me. The WX900 shaft is by far the best. I do hovever use a Hybrid Alpha shaft when i play straight pool.
Why is there no recognition of the McDermott I2 ?
Carbon Core Technology started right here, in the good old USA, and these shafts play great.
No shaft is for everyone, but if you are a fan of the Mezz HP2 or the Alpha, for considerable less money you can buy McDermott ... I have played with all these shafts and I am not sure that you could tell the difference between the Mezz and the McDermott...
I suppose this has more to do with sponsorship dollars than anything else...
Check them out and see for yourself.

according to this table, it isn't a very LD shaft. Anyway, I have used it and I liked it.

transfer more spin? why? I think a shaft itself doesn't transfer more or less spin, only a soft tip can increase the angular/lineal velocity ratio.
Thanks for the link ... And thank you Dr. Dave!
Would have been more interesting if the new Mezz and Jacoby shafts were included with the numbers. I wonder how the I2 would compare to them in a real controlled experiment.
I have always felt that if you want the lowest deflection possible with the most feedback, you need to shoot a low mass front end shaft with a hard tip.
But neither the Jacoby, Mezz or McDernott are low mass front end...
I think the actual deflection numbers on the Jacoby and the Mezz shafts might surprise some folks. The I2 shaft is extremely low deflection given that it is not a low mass front end shaft ... In fact, it rated the best of all those shaft types tested in theses tables.
