Mid America lathe upgrade

Fit two replacement handles to the wheels of my Mid America Professional lathe today. The fixed handles they had were slightly inconvenient. Not only do these spin free, I made a little extender bar for the small wheel. Was pretty simple to upgrade, especially if you put them where the original handles were. Just take the original wheels off and punch out the fixed ones, then drill and tap, 10x24, for the new ones. Really simple great upgrade.
Edit, cleaned it up. I know stupid waste of time, but it bugged me.

Are these handles you made or ones that came from me? I have sent a few sets out to guys already. I love the extender bar. Very clever solution. I have these handles already in stock and will have them available for sale on the site in the next few days - thanks for sharing !!

Just got them from you a couple days back. with some other stuff. They're a great upgrade, especially on the small wheel. I really appreciate your good and quick service.
I know my extender bar looks a little funky, but it works. Looking at it now in the picture, I think next time I'm in the shop I'll look for an angled flathead screw, and angle out the extender bar hole there so the screw sits flush and looks nicer. Stupid, I know, but once something bugs me I have to try and correct it. May even have to use a stainless screw so the head matches my buffed bar, ha ha.
Anyway, I really like those handles, and it was a simple install, if you already have a drill and a 10x24 tap.

Thanks man - I like the bar, that is really great idea.

Love the extension. Sadly it won’t work with the bigger wheel I upgraded. They would hit each other

I just made these available on the site and also added a little YouTube video describing the installation and options. Check it out and please subscribe to our channel. I have been making some improvements to our video equipment and process and hope to have a lot more to offer in the near future on YouTube
