mid-cue extension

hi all
I want to add weight, length, and move my balance point forward- a mid-cue extension seems to make sense- does it?
I haven't heard too much about them, but I'm curious from a cuemaker's perspective how well they work, and what pricing is like?
thanks-

If you want the option of more forward balance, but the option to go back to the way it was, they work just fine.
Weight wise, they can range from 1 to 3 ounces.

I play in league with a tall guy who uses one, but I've never discussed it with him and I've never shot with his cue. It definitely interests me -- because even though I'm only 6' tall, I do like a longer cue. It looks like his is maybe a 3" extension..
