I've been searching, but have not been succesful, for a tour in the Mid West. Something in Missouri, Illinois, and Indiana. I know that St. Louis, Springfield IL, and Chicago have some great places to play. Why are these places not hosting any tour stops? Can we get something in these areas?
Thanks,
Zim

9balllvr- I was unaware of this tour! They should get more locations in the St. Louis area, theres tons of good pool rooms there.
Thanks for the link!

the midwest 9 ball tour is the best tour to ever come through the midwest. the mcdermott tour had it's flaws, this one is pretty damn good. plus missouri/illinois/kansas has a slew of talented players. me being from st. louis i'm biased to who i think the best "amateur" player is....i'd have to go w/andy quinn or gabe owen...although both are pro caliber

Finally, someone who knows Andy Quinn!! He's is by far PRO caliber, Gabe must be a new player out there (since 99)! I'm from IL, but just outside of St. Louis, actually O'Fallon, IL area. Andy still playing a lot? Who's he been playing lately? What about Gary Lutmann, Joe Woolford??
Thanks,
Zim

andy has been one of the best players in this area for awhile.....as far as farmington joe goes, he just started playing again about 6 months ago. jerry terbrock is still a great forc in the area. snooker jon from the lake......the are so many players. by chance do you know martin warren from Rolla, MO?? and Gabe owen is from Tulsa, but frequents the area. I have been playing alot w/enlow and little pat as of late

Wow!! Randy Enlow and lil' Pat! I haven't heard about them in 4 years!! I've heard of all the names mentioned, but Martin Warren I've never seen play! How's Enlow and lil' Pat playing? Still near the top?

enlow is managing chesterfield billiards now and is still on top of his game....from what he said he beat wade crane at derby city this past year in the 9 ball event. pat took 3 years off and is still one of the best around...a solid 4th place finish at the break earlier this year. i've been around the area for about 15 yrs playing....w/ppl like dwayne pearson, dean deforest and more.

Damn...Dean Deforest, another great player! What about Jimmy Martin from IL? Casey McTaggart, Preston Hall, Jeff Koethe?

haven't seen any of the aforementioned players in awhile.....seen preston and justin playing at the Break a few weeks ago...probably getting him ready for jr's.... i'm getting ready to head up to the break in about 45 mins or so.

Have fun tonight at hte Break! If you happen to see Preston, tell him Mike Zimmerman "Zim" said hello!
He knows DAN D (Danny Deiters)!

the break was actually kind of quiet tonight, although i left pretty early. seen harriman in there though, talking w/a couple local players (jon williams and watches).

MIDWIKKID- When/Where are the local tournaments? Teachers, Riverbend, Brendons, Sharky's, Side Pocket, The Break, Chesterfield Billiards, Ride the Rail, what about Breakers or Games People Play? I would like to know where the tournaments are and which gets the most attendance!
Thanks,
Zim

well being summertime alot of the tournaments are dwindling down quite a bit. but there are still a few decent ones. Planet 8 Ball in St. Peters (buddy evans place) was drawing around 45-50 players in the winter...but have worked down to around 20-25 now...still good for summer. they have tournys on sunday afternoons. both of teachers beginners (monday nights) and open tournys (sunday nights) have worked way down w/only 8-10 players...but still guaranteed $100 for first. chesterfield has their tournaments on monday nights......still drawing a pretty good field. a few weeks ago i played there and there was 7 players over a 10 handicap in it....including justin and lars. also arizona jay, steve boucher, dustin dunham and ryan hopping. as for the other places, i'm not sure if they have weekly tournaments or not. there is a place in jefferson city that has a pretty good sized 9 ball tournament on the 2nd sunday of the month. and then poplar bluff adds $1000 the first sunday of each month.

forgot to mention the annual THanksgiving tourny at ride the rail in nov. always 120+ show up for that. w/a $10 entry how can you go wrong. i played a small 8 ball tourny the other night at a really small bar west of st. louis, $5 entry was it, king of the hill type w/a calcutta. calcutta alone was $450 for first. $845 total in calcutta money. pretty good for a $5 tourny

I'm suprised Sharky's doesn't have anything regular! Thanks for the update!
