Midnight Tournaments

Just curious, do any of you play in any tournaments that start at wierd times like midnight?

There's a place called Tara Billiards south of Atlanta that used to have a friday night tourny that started at midnight. Every friday night all the players from Atlanta and the surrounding areas would head down to Jonesboro. I remember that thing would get upwards of 80 or 90 players sometimes, and with a 15 dollar entree and big money players auction it could pay out upwards of $1500 or more if you could play your cards right. That was the place to be on Friday night if you were from Atlanta

There used to be a pool room here in Az. that had midnight events...They always seemed to get good turnouts.

It just so happens that there is going to be a midnight event here in town Sat night....It is a $75 event single elimination with one $50.00 re-buy...(re-draw after each round) It was only open to the first 16 players, and it filled rather quickly...(pretty much all A and A+ players)

There's a place in Denver that has a 3AM tourney on Tuesdays. I've never played in it, so I can't tell you if it's any good.

i like the late tournaments, i usually wonder if there is something better going on somewhere else. but in a late tourny i know that all the action is probably in the room

That tournament was the ****! I just wish that I played as good as I do now back then! LOL I was like 16 when that tournament was just unreal! That tournament is dead now :(

I used to run a midnight madness tourney at a pool room in Arlington, TX. It was a lot of fun! $10 entry, the house added $100. We cut the field off at 32... started taking sign ups at 10:00 sat night and by 10:30 the field was full. Play started at midnight & usually ended between 5 & 6. It was a handicap tournament... race to your handicap, the hightest being 7. All the players in the area used to come play in it. A very young Jeremy Jones and Danny Harriman came through (at different times) when they were 17-19 yrs old and on the road honing their skills. (sigh) those were the days!
