Mika & Ronnie Wiseman

What was the problem between Ronnie and Mika? They were arguing about the rack whan Scott "The Shot" came over and told them not to speak to each other for the rest of the match or they would be penalized one game.
Purdman

Purdman,

I did not see it but these 2 quotes were culled the CCB forum:

According to what I read on another forum (AZ) this is what happened......
Mika did not like a Wiseman rack and rearranged a ball to Wiseman's objection
("don't touch the balls") resulting in a PA announcment that if either one spoke again during the match that the "game" would be a loss.

Looked to me like Mika wanted the balls racked in a particular order. Even would rearrange the order when the houseman was racking.

Mika did the same thing two years ago in the Joss tour finale against Tom D'Alfonso. Shorty still went on to win but Mika had Joe Tucker racking for him the rest of the match. Can't say if it was a sharking tactic or not but it certainly didn't work if it was.

Some guys are just too damn picky about the rack. It would be nice if the 1 ball flew in the side pocket every rack and the CB stopped in the middle of the table but then ya might as well shake the guys hand if you lose the coin flip and say, " Good shootin'." I might look at a rack once or twice during a match just to keep the guy honest but I'll be damned if I'm gonna get up there and check every single rack and turn a race to 9 match into a 3 hour marathon.

GOOD FOR YOU!

Isn't this against the rules ? I thought that a legal rack had the 1 on the head, the 9 in the middle, and the other balls in RANDOM ORDER. If someone wants them in a particilar order all the time that seems to me to be the opposite of RANDOM ORDER. Please correct me if I'm wrong here. In Mikas defense, I do not know if he was wanting to adjust racks to become more or less random. The posts suggest to me that he was leaning towards the 'less random' side.

i think mika inspects the racks most of the time but within reasonable time thus not causing material delay to the game. it's my first time to know something about the incident in joss two years ago. but before this year's us open, he just 'suffered' from dubious racking in wpm. that probably caused him to be more meticulous in us open. but i think, if he's not happy with how the balls were racked, he should have requested for a rerack instead of adjusting the rack himself. he must had a reason. maybe somebody can give light on this.
