For sale is a Fantastic ebony nosed cue by Mike Montalvo.
He's a maker from so-cal, and has worked with Ariel Carmeli. It's a 6 point high low cue, holly into ebony. It has gorgeous purple and white veneers with unique inlays on the butt sleeve.
***When I received the cue, the guy I obtained it in a trade from did not state that there were spear point inlays (holly into ebony) at the tip of each of the 6 points. They had been stained to match the ebony before the cue had been finished (or refinished) under the final clear coat. Not pointing fingers, he might not have known as they're hard to see.
It plays fantastically, so i've kept it for now. I've had plans to refinish the forearm and buff out that butt cap. If any interested buyers want me to pursue this route before shipping i can. I believe there is a way to remove the stain without damaging the ebony, but it's a risk.....
Aaaaanyways....
I'd like to see $SOLD$ for this cue, which in my opinion is fair. Or trade for a nice JB or equivalent quality case. I'd say new or restored, it would be worth about 700ish
SPECS:
Length 58 inches
3/8x10 standard pin
no ivory
weight 18oz
tip size 12mm
the holly points are flippin sweet IMO. i have close ups of the spearpoints and will post soon
