Milk dud on carom cue?

Just curious if this would be a good idea or not. Has anyone tried one? I've got a pretty basic Longoni carom cue, stock shaft. Going to try a milk dud on my pool cue anyway, would it be a good idea to add one to my carom as well? Thanks,

Its a coincidence that you post this. 2 tips ago I ran out of sniper tips. I needed a tip badly so I installed a ElkMaster tip on my carom cue. (I own a lathe) I decided to install it the way sniper suggest to install their tips.
they say "wet the sides of the tip as you are turning down." I did this with the elkmaster. only I used alot more water. let me tell you.. this elkmaster plays almost identical to a sniper. I just replaced my tip again.. I used the same method. works perfect again. minimal mushrooming and almost no break in period. :) IMHO it is not nesesery to use milk. water will do fine. and you dont have to let it soak. I have done the milk method. and the tip gets too hard for my taste.

Here is my procedure. press the tip. (not too hard).
Glue tip onto ferrule as usual.
Wet side of tip and then trim off a little at a time, re-wetting after each
cut. cut down till close to ferrule. wet sides again really well. use blade
to trim even with ferrule. after flush.. burnish the sides until it shines a bit. then sand with your diffrent grits up to 2000. I wet the sides with spit very lightly and burnish after each grit sandpaper.
Shape tip as usuall. you will find that shaping the tip will be just as easy as shaping a lepro. anyone who has ever installed an elkmaster will tell you that they are the hardest tips to shape. not anymore. :)
