Modify a Snooker Table

Can a snooker table be modified into a pool table. We like the style of snooker table that we have found but prefer it to be a standard table. Is this possible or impossible. How complicated. What are the risks. Cutting slate. Cutting down side rails. Enlarging the pockets. Has anyone done this with any success. Thanks

Yes, all of the things you have listed can be done. However, it would be much more expensive than getting a pool table. If you are dead set on it, call Pat Sheehan. You can find his contact info at onthebreaknews.com. It used to be quite common (50-60 years ago) to turn billiard and snooker tables into pool tables. My experience has been that playing pool on a snooker table will make you a better pool player and there is much fun to be had playing snooker as well.
