Moisture Content

I have a Delmhorst J-2000 Moisture Meter. There are no calibration settings for most of the woods used for cue building. Their FAQ on their website says that if you need to know the moisture content of an exotic wood to contact them and they most likely will have an answer. It also says that you can take any readings under 10 at face value, since the calibration won't affect it by very much.

Should I bother getting the settings from Delmhorst or just take it at what it says?

What should I be looking for as far as moisture content goes. I have some reading as low as 6 and some that are closer to 8.
