I live in Orlando and was eagerly awaiting some $ action with all 150 IPT members in town. What a letdown! The only players I saw (or heard of) getting down were Alan Hopkins, Nick Varner, Billy Incardona, Alex Lelie (from Holland), and these were more "friendly games" than epic battles. The pool world needs a Daniel Negreanu, who challenged anyone to play poker for 100,000 to 500,000 freezeout. My impression of the top pro players is they don't want to risk the $ (have you noticed the lack of deep-pocket backers these days?) or are resting up for the tournement. At any rate, if you want to see some good action, go to the Derby City Classic and you'll get all you can stand. Sure don't seem like there are any Cornbread Red or Bucktooth types around anymore, but maybe the IPT money will start something going.
