monogramming pool cue case?

I'm looking at a getting a gift for someone and was considering getting a case and just having their initials put on it.
Doesn't seem worth the wait for a custom case for something so simple so was wondering if I could just grab a case and have it monogrammed at any old mom and pop place.
Didn't know if that's doable or not - maybe the shape of pool cue cases doesn't accommodate monogram machines or something and it has to be done prior to assembly, who knows. I know nothing about monogramming.

Anyone have any experience/success with this?

Thanks,
Sneaky

My first thought is a leather case, then....
If you live in a decent size city, contact leather suppliers, maybe even "Tandy Leather" and ask them who they know. Lots of leather workers will have hand stamps and likely the alphabet in sizes and fonts, if they're really into the business.

Commercial case or nice leather? Guisseppee cases (not sure if still in business) will monogram the case lid.
Try Seyberts.... they might be able to accommodate sale & monogram on an in-stock case.

If it is a permanent monogram, the owner will never be able to sell it.
I have two Whitten cases. One has the strap he provides that has a polished brass plate attached to it with my name engraved on it. If I sell it I just keep or dispose of that strap and get another one for it, so it isn't a permanent thing.
I saw a beautiful Rich Black cue for sale for $2200 yesterday. It has the female owners name on the cue up by the joint under the finish.
...Just what I want...Good luck with that!!

I've had lots of things monogrammed, from clothes to nylon bag coolers to umbrellas. I know for sure a pocket on a cue case can be done traditionally and also vinyl monograms can be done on just about anything. Check with your local boutiques & garden/gift stores that sell items already popular for monograms. You do not have to buy items from them to be monogrammed.

That's another plus. The giftee i have in mind has a (what he considers) rather unfortunate nickname given to him by his nieces that i might like having immortalized...
