Midwest Bangers is proud to announce that we will be recognizing the top 8 performers in this week's Big Dog Billiards Friday Night 10-ball Extravaganza as the first inductees into the Central Iowa Bar Box Gladiator Team!
The team will consist of a compilation of the top 8 competitors in: 10-ball, 8-ball, and 9-ball. The qualifying participants will be awarded points based on their performance in these randomly-selected, non-handicapped events.
The point system will be: 1st=10 points, 2nd=7 points, 3rd=5 points, 4th=3 points, 5th/6th=1 point each, 7th/8th=1/2 a point each. The top 8 players on the list after these first 3 events will be selected as the team to represent Central Iowa in the Midwest Bangers Monsters of the Bar Table Championship.
Any city can qualify their own teams to be represented in the Monsters of the Bar Table Championship by holding a non-handicapped tournament of: 10-ball, 8-ball, and 9-ball, and submitting, by e-mail to: midwestbangers@gmail.com, the top 8 performers from each preliminary event. The running tally by each participating city will be posted on Midwest Bangers group page.
The deadline to have the team selected is May 1st. The Championship will consist of a single, double elimination team tournament represented by 5 players and 3 alternates. There will be a $500 entry fee per team, an optional $250/team side-pot paying the top 2 performing side-pot entrants, and a Calcutta auction.
Each player will play each player on the other team in each discipline. A win will be determined by the player that wins 2 out of 3 games. A tentative timeframe for the Championship will be in June 2013 and the number of days for the tournament will be established based on the # of participants. Any venue that is interested in holding the Championship at your location and any vendors that might be interested, please e-mail any information to: midwestbangers@gmail.com
1/4 of the field to be paid from the entry fee prize fund, 1st & 2nd paid from the optional side-pot and 1/5 of the field paid from the Calcutta auction. Please e-mail any questions to midwestbangers@gmail.com
