Moori tip comparisons

Hello All,

Been using a Moori Medium for a while on my Predator shaft.

Tip needed to be replaced and this time a chose a Slow (soft) Moori. The difference in hit is very noticeable. Haven't played long enough with it to determine which I like better, but I am leaning towards the Medium.

My question is about the Quick (hard tips).

Anyone have any experience with these in comparison to the Mediums?

I have a pretty decent stroke and I am comfortable with all different types of stroke/speed/english and the blends therein...Is it easy to hit the ball soft but still spin it hard with a Quick tip ? ....I hope that was clear.....kill shots basically....

Anything that is alot tougher to do with the Quick tips???

Thanks

So far as "gripping" the cue ball, I feel that all Moori tips work the same.

I use a Moori Q (hard) tip as this tip will maintain its shape longer, don't need to reshape it as often, so tip lasts longer.

I did need to re-learn to play with a hard tip. I forget what was different, but don't recall it being any big difference.

There was a big difference switching from leather to a pig skin Moori - for the better - tip stayed in good condition for long periods. And switching from a nickel shape to a dime shape was a big change - took a long time to get adjusted to.

I switched TIPS from Morri Mediums, to Tiger Hards.

Also Switched from a Nickel Radius to a Dime Radius on my TIPS. Like my New Combination BETTER, as I seem to have more Control of "WHITIE" (the Q Ball).

Hear many of the Top Pros play with HARD TIPS...

If theres anywhere in the world that you dont have to explain what "whitey" is its here. :p

I tried the Moori hards and really did not like them at all. Maybe the two I had were very hard but they constantly had that glazed effect and did not hold chalk well.
I am playing with a "soft" Moori now and like it a bit better but I do notice that it doesnt stay in "shape" as long.

I believe the best tips I have ever used have been Talisman and Triangle(silverish color). The Triangle tips with a silverish color gave me the best
cueball to tip feeling and I could really feel the tip grabbing the ball. Thye just did not last long and did not hold their shape very long.
I played with talisman mediums for a while and really liked them. I quit playing and when I started back I tried Moori. I might go back and try another Talisman. Sometimes its hard to duplicate memory though..

tips

I agree with Frank. The talisman tips are better for they hold chalk better than the moori's which seem to glaze over too quickly. I used to use LePro and went to Talisman. I like them best.

tailsman fan here to .med, hards and softs all hit good they hold chalk well to morri seem not to hold chalk as well and seem to get hard a little faster. triangle tips hard to find a good one they seem to be real spongie which i can't stand.

I tried Moori mediums, didn't really like them, seemed to glaze over all the time. Switch to Morri slows which were better but still didn't hold chalk that well. I always seemed to get a lot of mis-cues when using Moori's.
I'm now using Tiger Everests and i'm very happy with them. Hold chalk well, keep there shape and really grip the cue ball.
My dad uses medium Talismans and he's happy with them.
