Most Innapropriate Time to Play Pool

For me it was after a Funeral service of a long time freind. We all went back to his parents house and everyone was just sitting around and being quiet
and polite. I was getting restless, so I opened up the Billiard room and took the cover off the table, and yelled out into the living room, "Race to 7 for 100" a guy i did not know responded..."I'll take that action" We flipped for the break and before we knew it, the room was filling up with folks and everyone was chatting and watching us play.:D

I have had plenty of inappropriate moments at the pool hall.

My law school graduation ceremony I skipped to go on the road to Chicago from Gainesville Florida. The Willard's International 9 and 8 ball classic was going down and I had a buddy with an RV that wanted to go and hit some spots on the way up. Who was I to say no?

I've had a wedding anniversary evening in an ahead session that went overtime. Took all of my winnings and then some to get me out of the doghouse.

I've been sick with pneumonia and played 18 hrs straight and it dealt me a week long stretch of extended illness due to my inability to stay away.

Given the chance, I think I would probably do everything the same way again. There is no 12 step program for what afflicts me :D

League Night ...

My older brother, Knute, and I were playing on a team in BCA league
the night his granddaughter was born. It was a fast labor, and
he did not have a chance to realize when it was 'that close'.
He got a call about 9:55 pm that his granddaughter, MIka, was
born at 9:52 p.m. on January 20th (just 2 hrs and 8 minutes more
and she would have made her arrival on my birthday). Luckily, he
was on his last league game with his opponent shooting. His opponent
missed, Knute ran the table, and hurriedly left for the hospital.

During an earthquake. One night a friend and I were shooting after hours when one struck and he yelled out "keep shooting, keep shooting". So what did we do? We kept shooting of course, never mind the fact that the lights, ceiling or walls could have crumbled down on us at any time.

Bad decision, got lucky though.
