Hi,
I am in the process of choosing to order either a mottey or a scruggs, but, have not tried either of the ones I want to order. Can anybody pls help in mentioning how they are when it comes to collectability and playability? thanx again:D

You might want to try flipping a coin on this one. They are both collectable, both play well, Mr. Mottey tends to be a bit more fancy
while Mr. Scruggs is more on the classic look.

Both of these fine cuemakers are in our new , CUEMASTERS.ORG,

Mike Webb is also a member.

i've never heard a bad thing said about a scruggs hit, and some say his metal piloted joint is one of the best.

mottey makes some good designs and won a best in show at stroud's collectable cues gathering last year in ruidoso, new mexico.

Both cues are excellent cues. They both play very nice, I do however like Pauls piloted ivory hit over the flat faced hit of a Scruggs ivory joint. I have never had a piloted Scruggs ivory joint. But hit is subjective and differs person to person.
Collectability? In this market is there such a thing? Unless the cuemaker is dead... if you mean maybe resale value, I think both hold their own, but maybe Mottey is a little better. But we deal Mottey, so maybe I am biased
