Ok guys here it is.

I had been building up anxiety and anticipation for this event for the last few months obviously as Steve had put this event solely in my hands to plan and make happen. His trust in me mattered more than any other event I had planned because as most of you know Steve is like a brother to me and I wanted to make this event the most memorable one possible and do him proud in the process.

We get to the convention center where our booths were set up and sitting there waiting for us were two gorgeous nine foot diamonds. The only thing that came to mind was how to fit them, us, two 50" inch plasmas and a sound system within this confined space. Well as luck would have it we got the chance to make ourselves a little space here and there and everything turned out fine in that respect.

While our tables were being dropped I had the pleasure of meeting one our incredible neighbors Tom from Triple Cross Cues who had some of the prettiest and best hitting cues in my opinion from the whole show as he helped us drop our tables.

I was privileged enough then to watch a master table mechanic Wes prep our tables and truly show off his skills as he is a world class table guy.

Once the tables were finished it was time to set up the plasmas and the sound system. All the while we were chomping at the bit to play on those amazing tables but we knew work had to be done first  lol.

So once everything was done we began to play and laugh and have a great time as all of a sudden who should appear but world class cue maker Jerry McWorter and pro's Mike Fieldhammer and Samm Diep. ACTION BABY ACTION.

A game of scotch straight pool broke out with Jerry as my partner and Samm and Mike playing together for $5.00. The action was fast and furious with Mike and Samm barely takin the first game. I still think Sam cheated somehow or is on steroids or something, maybe she used a laser to crack my ferrule. In all seriousness though these people were awesome and it was a prelude to an awesome event.

More to come later guys

Nice commentary. I watched the final 2 matches. Very nice job overall.

The booth setup was cool also.

Mission success.

Sounds like everything went great.

Unfortunately I was unable to attend this year. Too bad. I would have given my left *** to see the Dave Daya/John Schmidt match.

Everyone involved did a great job and I'm honored to have made a humble contribution to what turned out to be a great event. Hopefully things will work out that I can attend next year. I'll take a chance (several probably) for sure.

Congrats on a successful run and thanks for running this event, keeping Straight Pool alive. I was by the booth a couple of times and it was well set up.

Charlie -- what were the top 8 qualifying totals? I think I've read that Steve Lipsky was 8th with 132, but can you give us the whole list of top 8 scores? It would also be interesting to know how many "buy-ins" each of the top 8 players made.
