Had a bit of cash lying around, so I thought I'd invest in a break cue for English pool. Jason's break cues are highly regarded and are made beautifully. The cue on the left is my Peradon playing cue for comparison.

SPECS:
58"
10mm Cue Guru tip
16oz

Break cue is maple and the playing cue is ash. Both cues have main splicings of ebony and gorgeous padauk decorative splices. The veneer on the break cue is maple and the one on the playing cue is sycamore.

For such a simple wood, Padauk is among the loveliest.
I've got a 2 x 10 in the loft somewhere, have not yet made any cues incorporating that species; however, yours is certainly inspiring!

I didn't think I'd love it this much, if I'm honest. There's just something about the orangey-red/dark red style of the wood that goes so well with ebony and a white veneer.

Although, I have to say, I do prefer the shade on my playing cue. I couldn't have asked for a nicer padauk splice. I adore the dark red look to the wood.
