From i know from the Blue Book, Dale Patten, which hails from Redondo Beach California, was a machinist who was the brother in law to Richie Florence, a pro at that time. Dale Patten made the "Richie Florence cue line" in the 70s and Richie marketed them in tournaments.
He "retired" the Richie line in 1980, but continued making one of a kinds.
i was told this blank is either made by Burton Spain or Szamboti. The 8 pointer looks like Pink Ivory Points(?) to me, and to my recollection i have never seen any Szamboti or Spain Pink Ivory Points for that matter, so its most unlikely this is one of theirs. Anyway on the 8 point Pink Ivory points, they are all shape and even, both the long and the shorts, which is amazing. i would think even SW couldnt make such nice pointwork. Starburst style Ivory in bushka ring. Buttsleeve with Ivory and Pink Ivory inlays.
Thats all i know, i would appreciate more information on Mr Dale Patten and whether he is still making cues...
