Hey, how them daytons play? I am interested in what the hit is like, and the shaft (not predator). I tend to like a pretty stiff playing cue. I started poking around on the website and like a lot of what he does. I have been looking for something a little like Snookered's but in different colors. X-lent rings and veneers on that one. Nice cues guys. I need to start my custom cue collection. My wife doesn't understand why one custom isn't enough. I say it's pretty obvious that you need a lot of expensive cues when you miss a lot.:p

Hey Miko!

Yup that's the exact same cue with different woods. We talked about this on CCB remember?

Check your pm...

The cue plays great. It came with two Predator shafts, so I can't talk about Dayton's custom taper; Miko should be able to help you out with that as he got one of each.

Cosmetically, the cue turned out flawless. Paul took an extra week to buff out the finish, as he saw a minor blemish and refused to ship a less-than-perfect cue, even with my constant harrassment =) God bless him, he must've given a huge sigh of relief once he shipped the cue.

The rings look great, perfect little squares of maple and ebony. They also line up straight throughout the cue.

Both the Ebony forearm and Tiger maple handle are cored with straight-grained (or laminated?) maple. The balance feels just right, forward but not too forward. The butt is 29.5"

My hands sweat a little too much for a wrapless cue. I take along a micro-fiber towel and wipe my hands and the cue everytime I take a shot. More work, but worth it for the gorgeous Tiger Maple wrap.

Anyway, I'm 110% happy with my Dayton. The cue looks/plays great, and his customer service was superb. Answered all of my numerous emails, and never left me hanging.

Roger,

Yep, I do remember our conversation now. :) I love the curly maple on your cue. The stripes are just gorgeous!

JPB,

Dayton's taper is stiff but hits sweet. I am currently using the maple shaft instead of the pred. I just like the hit and feedback I get from the maple shaft better. Although I play better with the pred shaft, I guess I just need to readjust my game using the maple shaft. Especially since I have another cue coming with 2 maple shafts. :)

hey dayton owners.....i also have a dayton but i have a super sweet plaing hustler from him.....i think if a guy can make a hustler play good then the rest is easy cause it all lies in the shaft with cues like mine......his taper is very nice ....short and stiff but has great playability dynamics......short story about mine...i had just sold a omega/dpk and needed a cue to go to tourny and play with ...guy here locally had this cue so i stopped and asked him what he wanted for it......he said he would take what it cost 450.00...i had a lucasi that he took in trade and i paid 225..00 cash out of pocket...hes also a lucasi dealer and this cue was new.....cue came with 2 shafts and ivory ferrules.....well went to tourny and had never played with cue.....tourny starts at midnight and by 6 am i had won it.....first time i have ever just felt this is the right cue for me........juston

Dayton Cues

Hi Folks,

I met Paul at the Midwest Billiards Expo. He had a sample of his spice at the booth. When I inquired about it, he spent nearly a hour showing me how a cue was built. I've played for over forty years and never knew! Paul is a first class gentlemen. I am indebted to him for his valuable time and expertise.
