And I like the brown one, I wish I could see the grain on the Snakewood better. Beautiful cues.

i know that you are a collector, and that the snakewood cue is quite an aquisition. my question is, as beautiful as it looks, is solid snakewood a sound choice in terms of playability?
for example, amboyna burl is also a beautiful wood on a cue, but i have been told by many cuemakers that it's good as an inlay, but not necessarily good to construct cues from.
i assumed snakewood would be the same, however, i can't imagine ernie making something non playable.

As to snakewood Gina, this is not SOLID snakewood.
The butt is constructed from 12 pieces of snakewood, like 314 shaft(a 314 has 10
pieces, not 12).
I heard snakewood is very easily crackable.
So I think Ernie chose this construction.
Anyway, all of these Ginas hit quite nice.
For me, snakewood one hits a little softer than ebony ones.
This softer hit might come from its 12-piece construction ???

But what about the forearm? Did he laminate the forearm as well? If he laminated the butt of the cue, then he had to do the same for the forearm because it's a larger part of the cue right?
