Here are some pictures of my recently acquired cues. I posted some pics before in the main part but thought since I have more info on them that I would post here as well..

I just talked to Laurie Franklin today! Good news. Apparently my cue is indeed a Southwest cue. It is also from 1988 and was the first cue that Jerry Franklyn made with the purple wood forearms and green veneer. He made the original owner put down a deposit (something rarely done in those days) because he thought the cue would be too ugly for the customer to want...
After the cue was finished, he liked it so much that he made one for himself and used it for a while. Kind of neat information that my cue was the first in this combination...
It will be in vegas for several months getting reconditioned and a new shaft made. I will miss it but only shot with it for a few minutes after I bought it and sent it off to southwest right away to get a certificate of authenticity and to get redone. I am very happy with it. I cannot wait to get it back.
I may sell the Joss sometime in the near future. I was not so pleased with the CUSTOMER SERVICE of Joss East. Bill Strod was very quick to respond to my questions (since I wasn't sure if it was a JW or not at first...) but Joss East was less than friendly and finally was told to email Dick Abbott (Who was very helpful) to get info on my cues. I simply wanted to find out what year or years they made the cue I have and the original selling price but I guess they do not want to help you with anything except collecting your money for a cue they are currently selling...once it is out the door, oh well...
Let me know what you think. I like the hit of the Joss just fine. I like the SW hit much more...
