there, i've said it!! i don't know how i got into it, but i buy/collect really nice production cues. i can't afford to buy high end custom cues, and never will be able to afford them. instead, i look for full splice or half splice production cues, like d-series mcdermotts, older piloted joint cobra, early 90's joss, joss-made brunswicks, rich q's, vikings with the clear plastic windows. i do have a few "customs" , the most common being a few palmers, plus a ricco cervantes jump/break cue and a rohnzohn(sp?). along the way, i've picked up some great cases like fellinis, mcdermott centennial, palmer custom cues case.
when it comes time to sell a cue or two, i find it is so easy to sell one of these to either a player or a collector, since the price range is usually about 200 bucks vs. a grand or more for a custom. if sold to a player, i'm always happy to buy the cue back from them when they eventually buy something else ( and we all eventually buy and use something else, right?).
btw, if not for e-bay, i don't think this obsession would have ever began. thanks e-bay!
how many of you share my dirty little secret and have acquired a number of beautiful production cues?
