just got this, and will be test-driving it tonight. i don't know what the points wood is, but it has an ivory ring on the butt, 6 points, 3 high 3 low, and nice dashed rings, not a mark on it. 2 shafts, 1 unused, 1 cleaned kind of roughly, i'll have to rub it down with some real fine sandpaper and burnish it a bit.
i had a chance to buy a gilbert about 5 years ago, just remember it was kind of plain so i wasn't eager to pay much for it, and i let it walk away.even though i've regretted that,this one i was happy to buy.
