My new AE cue

Im a new user to this site, but I just want to give some praises to Jeff Fugal and Bruce Kuhn of Artistic Engineering. I just got my new cue a few months back and hits like a dream. Hopefully I will be able to load some pics in a few days. Maybe if anybody else has ever owned an AE they can share there experience.

I have one and like all excellent cuemakers the workmanship is first rate. Bruce and Jeff are perfectionists when it comes to craftsmanship. All of their cues are pretty much flawless when they leave the shop. Their cues are under rated as far as craftmanship. My only complaint, and it's not big, is that their cues seem to "hit" inconsistantly. This is not necessarily a bad thing, since they might all "hit" good. I think this might be because they use several joint configurations. Mine is radial pin, my friend has steel 3/16-14 and a radial. All three cues hit totally different. I got a good deal on mine...paid $400 for a virtually new AE...curly maple forearm, 4 cocobolo points, ivory hoppe ring in the butt. And a terrific wrap job that looks almost like leather.

Side note: I've been told that AE cores all of their forearms.

Enjoy.

Regards,

Doug
