Hello everyone it's been sometime since I've posted anything here on AZB. John Barioni at Barioni Custom Cues is almost finished with my cues and he sent me a couple of pics of my playing cue. I thought I'd post them, these are not the final pics this is only the playing cue the matching jump cue will be finished as well. John said these pics only have one coat of clear, so the cue is almost done but I really think it's gonna look great. The cue is black walnut forearm and butt with bocote points, a birds-eye handle. I'll post with better pics and a review after I play with it. Getting excited kinda like a kid at Christmas time. Here is just 3 pics, the cue has not even been signed yet. Thanks for looking. Stay safe friends it's a crazy world.

That walnut should play nice. I'm glad you like your new cue, it's nice to find a cue you really like. Never cared for the gap spacing in Barioni's points myself though, but that's just me. Do you like having the flared knob-thing on the buttcap? Just curious, since I haven't played with one of his cues.

edit: Also looks like he has a strange taper on that cue. Looks straight up until the A-joint, then tapers down. Do you notice any difference in playability (or at least ergonomics) than straight tapered cues?

This cue is a 3 pointer, I've never played with his cues I've heard many people are crazy about them. So I'm going to see if they play, I'll post a review as soon as I've played with it a bit. I'm hoping it plays out of this world, will have to see.

Yeah, I've heard of his cues as well, but haven't heard about what they feel like to play with. Your review would be appreciated. Honestly, I think his website has a lot of very ummm, odd claims and terminology. I can respect when someone has a passion for the game or for making cues, but "vibration dampening systems" just sounds cheesy. It's a cue for god's sake, not a lunar rover! :D

From how he describes his building process, it sounds like they would play very soft and have little feel in the back hand. Kind of a "dead" hit if you will, especially if there is low deflection involved... which some people prefer. Let us know when you get it!
