My New Jim Murnak Case

I just received this kick a** Vintage Jim Murnak Case. Its a 3x6 case with all silver hardware and my intials ingraved in old english font. Jim is super to deal with, plus his craftmanship in this cas far exceeded what I was expecting. Best case I ever owned. Thanks Mr. Murnak.

When did he change the latch system, that is what kept me from odering one. I just think I may have to now.

I struggled with what shading to use for both the case and the carving. Jim and I shot some emails back and forth with ideas. It is possible to have both case and carving change to different colors across the case.

On carving, I was not very successful finding something new or novel. I did not want something too "flowery" - so that limited the choices based on the examples on his website. Jim has a few more examples to look at since I ordered mine.

Originally, I ordered a 3x6 (not knowing a 4x8 was an option). After my order, Jim Murnak posted a 4x8 or pricing for a 4x8 for one of his cases on his website. After my order was placed, Jim agreed to switch at no additional cost other than the increase for the large case.

I highly recommend his work.
 
After seeing this guy around the pool hall where I've been shooting for a few years...I only found out last week that he is Jim Murnak, the one behind these beautiful cases. Hahahaa...small world.
