I just got this cue today in unused condition. Has anyone out there seen another Phillippi like this one? It plays great and is very well made. Thanks!

Phillippi

Nice cue man. Rick and his dad have been making great cues for a long time. Rick is one of the nicest guys out there!

Is that an ivory joint and ivory ferrule that I see? Please identify the red colored wood. Who made the stick, Rick or his father, Richard? I, too, own one made by Rick that looks as well as it plays - even better after installing the Talisman Pro medium tip.

Kokopuffs,
The joint is white phenolic as is the ferrulle. The points and butt sleeve are purple heart. The points are inlaid into straight grain maple. The "butt" end of the points have a small ebony teardrop at their tip. This cue has a hard tip but I don't know what kind. I prefer the softer hit of an Elkmaster. I don't know which Phillippi made the cue but it feels good. The balance is such that it feels like it's floating when you stroke. Thanks,

I bought and played with the EXACT same cue at the DCC this year. I only had it for a couple of days though, as I traded it for something else. Awesome cue, that, as you say, played very well. Congratulations! Very nice cue.
peace
David
