Hi. I have a cue that has a radial pin. I heard from another player that I need to place wax on it to take care of it? Any advice if this is true or not? If it is true, what type of wax and how often do I need to apply it? Thanx in advance.

Don't laugh at this, it works. Each time that you are through playing and in the process of putting your cue away, take your finger and rub it on your nose or forehead and then on the radial pin. Even though you may not see it, you will have enough oil from your skin to lubricate the pin and it also keeps the wood threads in the shaft in good condition. I've used this method for seven years on my radial pin and my cue is in perfect condition, even though it gets played with alot (including breaking with it).... I AM NOT AN OILY ANIMAL, I AM A HUMAN BEING. imo... Doug

Smorgass Board,
Any pool rooms or cue makers around Daytona, Jensen Beach, Orlando area? I'm going to be working with Timothy White www.billiardsanctuary.com the first week of July and am interested in checking out some places/people.

Thanks,
Zim

I posted the following in RSB and am awaiting replies..
There was a question posed to me at Azb and I don't know the answer. Perhaps Becky, Johnny V, or someone else may be of assistance. I know that Mike Sigel is in Orlando. I believe that the last time we were collecting names of current cuemakers, about sixteen people admitted to making cues in Florida..

Smorg.,
Must be a fisherman too, cause thats a trick used to keep two piece fishing rods lubricated at the ferrule.

(Reply from Becky Humphrey, former owner of Racks Billiards in Titsville,FL.)
Pete Ohman in Melbourne is the only cuemaker I can think of, but I know there are many more.
Browns in Ormond Beach, Wally's in Daytona Beach, Curly's in Edgewater (now known as something else I can't ever remember), Racks in Titusville, Shooters and Sidepockets in Cocoa Beach, Chalkies and Warehouse in Merritt Island, Corner Pocket in Melbourne and Poolies in Vero Beach... those are the main pool rooms along the Space Coast.
