Hi!

I'm looking to buy a Predator cue equipped with their new Z shaft. I'm just not sure whether to go with P2 or 3K series. So, does anyone have first hand experience with either? Which would be a better choice?

Also, the pricing for the cues of the same series varies considerably, especially 3K1 compared to 3K7. I can't believe that that difference comes only from design and various colorful decorations...or is there something else?

My goals are: nice balance, low deflection and not too much decorations, if any (P2 Black Metallic and 3K1 come to mind).

Thanks,

Alex

Check their site to confirm, but I think the Pred. Z shaft has an 11.5mm tip. If you want a snooker cue fine, but for a pool cue you may want to stick with their 314 shaft. It comes to you at 12.75mm.

I've checked their site a few times. The Z shaft is 11.75mm, which would be way too big for snooker. It's true pool shaft alright. Currently it fits only pool cues which have Uni-loc joint type.

I've read some positive reviews about it from people who play with 314's. It is supposed to deflect and vibrate even less. That's why I'm interested in it.

You better believe it!

Every Predator, with the exception of their Sneaky Petes (which are full-spliced), and the P2 (which is radially laminated like the shafts) are essentially the SAME CUE with different inlays and decals.

imo, it is insane to spend that kind of money on a production cue, ANY production cue. Predator's technology is all in the shaft, specifically their lightweight ferrules which do work as advertised.

Thanks a lot guys.

Nah, the new cue it will be. I could put low squirt shaft on my funny balanced 20oz cue, but that would be an overkill. Plus, the butt is slightly damaged...:D

I purchased a Predator 2 with the Z shaft about 3 weeks ago. I have found the Z shaft to be much more responsive than the 314(I own a few of those.)

The cue ball looks huge with the 11.75 diameter tip & I have found it very easy to pinpoint cue ball contact for all types of english. Draw & follow are much easier for me & I have found that at times I get too much of both.

Now the biggest hurdle is getting used to the darn thing!!:D :D

I almost forgot - the accuracy isn't bad either. :) :)
