Hello out there!!! We are new to this and need an answer. We are going to get a team together for nationals this year. Here is where we are confused!!! We have a team that played, and won this session. Now, not everyone on the current team will be able to go. What are the restrictions on getting other player(s) to complete the team???

As I understand it...

You need 3 players from your original team and then 2 or 3 other players from the league.

The 3 "core" players must play in every match... if you had 4 core players, then you could sit one out per match.

the 2 or 3 non-core players don't even need to be from your league (as I understand it, but I could be wrong), but they must have played in a BCA league this year.

I seem to recall that they DO need to come from the same league.

Well.... last year a team from our city (that has a few BCA leagues) was made up of a core of 3 from one league and 2 others from another league in town, but they might have worked something out to get them all sanctioned in one league.

I think they can do that because if one League Operator runs mulitple leagues out of the same charter, the players effectively are out of the same "league". So if League Operator A runs a league Mon, Tues, Wed and Thurs, all the players are sanctioned through the one charter and people can build teams from within the 4 different nights of that there is a league going on.

Hopefully, they will make some changes to how team rosters are put together for next year, like requiring a base roster of 4 people and a max roster of 6 or 7 players that have to be on the roster 2 weeks before the event.

My understanding is it has to be the same league. What night you play doesn't matter since you are qualified thru the same league number.

If you have 2 leagues with different numbers...they cannot make a team from members of different leagues.

If you did something to get them qualified in your league, then technically they are qualified

Agreed , this is the way it's done. :)
