need checklist for cue photos?

Is anyone else tired of "ID this cue" posts with inadequate photos? Do we need a checklist that folks can find or be directed to? If so, what photos details should be listed? Should example photos be included?

A checklist will simply give the hall monitors something else to bitch about if it is not adhered to.

I love checklists for most things because they'll save your butt if you use them. The unfortunate reality is, though, that a lot of the people posting these cue ID threads are new members who found a cue at a garage sale or similar situation and found this place through Google and just want to know what they can resell it for. It's the exact same situation on the r/billiards subreddit. They're not going to bother with any kind of checklist.

I would like to learn how to put more into a photo --- that can be hard for a 58" cue. I like how this eBay seller put three photos into one:

If it's mandatory to post something, then maybe. Otherwise they'll just ignore it. And don't get me wrong, I'd love for every cue ID post to have multiple photos. Joint face, bumper, under the bumper, shaft pilots, etc. I just know that the majority of people who ask for cue ID's without pictures wouldn't know what any of that stuff is and aren't going to bother to learn. And sure, it wouldn't hurt to have it. But if you owned this site would you invest the money into development and implementation of this system for what would probably be a zero return on your money?

I work with people who have been provided a first article inspection checklist for their work. Following said checklist will reduce the chance of a setup error (and the ding on their review) by over 99%. Maybe 75% of the operators follow it. About 20% of them follow it properly. And, not that following it is rocket science, but the instructions are literally on the checklist. This is for their jobs and livelihood.

"Your pics suck. Read sticky entitled __________ and revise."
and
"Our opinions can only be as good as your pics allow."

I hate mandatory. What investment? What I imagined was a list concocted by us (with pics for boneheads/uninitiated). Is not this a DIY bunch? Don't we have too much time on our hands?

The real cue ID pros know what we need/how to describe. Pics can be scavenged from our pages and applied by our techies . (I had the idea!)

I was kind of under the impression that cue ID posts with no pictures already got that treatment. And if a member wants to put something together as guidance I really don't see what it could hurt. All I'm saying is "good luck" getting someone who wasn't going to post pictures yet still asking for an ID to actually read the suggestions and follow them.
