We've owned a room for 4 years & it's been up & down the whole time. Things are great, then a new room in the area will open, things slow down, that room closes and we're back up.
These new rooms open and undercut us with rates, add more money to tournament prizes and do tons of free giveaways. Obviously it's not a model that really works since the 2 that have opened in the last 2 years have both closed.
The time our "regulars" take off really hurts us b/c those are the people we count on for the daily revenue, practice passes, repairs, etc.
A new room opened last month and has just taken away our Saturday tournament that's been going strong the whole time. They're adding $250 to the pot. We'll move to Sunday now in hopes of regrouping but it's a real PIA!
Any thoughts or ideas?
Would love some help!
