i was down in evansville at Custom Recreation saturday and they were showing me what is apparently a new jump/break cue by Cuetec. its called the Vortex Jump/Break Cue, they said it had a special ferrule and tip, not sure what they meant, could be something new or old, i dunno.

anyway, i didnt know of this cue. anybody played with it yet? i do know Cuetec has had the Vortex shaft out for awhile now.

in all honesty, it did seem to hit very, very solid. while it might be ok for a breaker, i dont think i would want to jump with it.

regards,

I bought a Vortex shaft for a playing cue and didn't care for it much. The shaft consists an X-shaped graphite rod encased in maple. They even put a little window in the shaft so you can see the graphite. I didn't care for the hit much but for what it's worth, I don't care much for the Predator shaft either. I tried using it for a break cue and went back to my old break cue instead. It is sitting in the pro shop now with a for sale sign on it.
