That would be a welcomed improvement. Glad to hear that possibly they took the advice of some like myself that said for a while now that it was too messy - particularly transferring chalk marks to the cue balls and pasty chalk marks to the cloth surface, that are hard to remove.
 
It's way less messy. I've had a prototype piece for a couple of months and used it daily.

Night and day difference. Still grips great but doesn't leave the marks and keeps the table clean.
